Start the month, like a mini-New Year

Start the month, like a mini New Year

In some ways, the first day of each month acts as a mini-New Year. It can be an ideal time to cleanse your mind, body, and environment of the previous month’s residue and reclaim control. In reality, you have 12 opportunities every year to make a fresh start.

There are several things you may do to kick off the month strong.

  • Write all the critical tasks you have to accomplish in the month.

  • Let go of past disappointments.

  • Note down dates of personal significance and block your time for them.

  • Declutter your space (table, car, working space).

  • Keep goals for personal development, such as getting more sleep, eating better, and exercising. For personal goals, you can start small and work your way up.

    For example, do you want to start going to the gym? Set a goal of going at least twice a week for the next month, then increase it to three times a week. Going from 0 to 100 immediately can only lead to disappointment. Start small and try to sustain it.

I am going to do this every month from now, I am sure my new year goals setting and planning exercise will be easier.
